Love in the 1st Degree is a ministry of women committed to operating in love. It doesn't seem like such a tall order, but yet it is. Operating in love often gets overlooked and I believe that women of God are being called to bring love back into the forefront of everyday life.
What does the Bible say about love - everything!
1 If I can speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.
2 And if I have prophetic powers and understand all the secret truths and mysteries and possess all knowledge, and if I have faith so that I can remove mountains, but have not love I am nothing.
3 Even if I dole out all the I have to the poor and if I surrender my body to be burned but have not love, I gain nothing.
4 Love endures long and is patient and kind: love never is envious nor boils over with jealousy, is not boastful or vainglorious, does not display itself haughtily.
5 It is not conceited; it is not rude and does not act unbecomingly. Love does not insist on its own rights or its own way, for it is not self-seeking; it is not touchy or fretful or resentful; it takes no account of the evil done to it
6 It does not rejoice at injustice and unrighteousness, but rejoices when right and truth prevail.
7 Love bears up under anything and everything that comes, is ever ready to believe the best of every person, its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances, and it endures everything (without weakening)
8 Love never fails.
I Corinthians 13: 1-8
Why is this important? If we're not operating in love it manifest itself in every area of our lives - poor health, stress, over eating, not getting involved in the communities we live in, not participating in your childrens schools PTA, not giving encouragement so someone because you "don't feel like being bothered", spending thousands of dollars on haircare products annually, but haven't considered donating lunch money to a family in need for their child. Talking about your depressed co-worker instead of spending time getting to know her and why shes depressed (not falling on your knees on her behalf).
I'm hungry for more of the Lord in my life on a daily basis, I want my every thought, actions and words to reflect my love for Him and you. I want to always rest in the comfort of knowing that every client I service, I do it with the power of Christ, that His healing power flows through me in my effort to give service to my clients and be of service to the Lord. I don't do this for the money, I do this for love. Love in the 1st Degree has been birthed out of my desire to love more.
